Biography

James is a shareholder at Daly & Black where he manages Daly & Black’s commercial insurance docket. James represents policyholders in property damage, life insurance, appraisal, and business interruption disputes.  

James is an effective litigator. Prior to joining Daly & Black, James represented large creditors and banks in lender liability suits, wrongful foreclosure claims, and bankruptcy.  Preferring to represent “the little guy,” James joined Daly & Black in 2015. He has successfully prevailed through verdicts, judgments, appeals, and alternative dispute resolution to make hundreds of clients whole.

James graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Philosophy and English where he competed on the debate team. After graduating from UT, James spent several years as a touring bass player, backing up multiple international recording artists.

James graduated in 2012 from Baylor Law School. While a law student, James served as class president and won multiple advocacy competitions. After graduation, James served as the post-graduate teaching assistant for Baylor’s nationally renowned Practice Court program.

James serves as a council member of the State Bar of Texas’s Insurance Law Section, where he serves on the CLE committee. James is also an associate editor of “Right Off The Press,” a weekly digest of insurance case law.
