Biography

Carla is an attorney with Daly & Black, representing residential and commercial property owners’ interests in claims made to their insurance companies.  

Carla was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from the University of Houston and graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. She is also Board Certified in Insurance Law.

Carla Delpit brings wide-ranging and vital experience to her role as a First Party Insurance Attorney. Carla’s insurance claims background fuels her to fearlessly advocate for policyholders’ rights to recover all policy benefits due to them. Before entering the practice of law, Carla gained a wealth of experience and knowledge as a property insurance adjuster in Texas, Louisiana and Florida. Carla’s 12 years of adjusting property damage claims for insurance companies serves her well and led her to legal practice. Carla believes her purpose revolves around standing up for what is right to advocate for those who are mistreated by insurance companies. Her personal and professional experiences during Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike motivated her to become a strong advocate for policyholders.

During her career, Carla has represented governmental entities, school districts, churches and hundreds of commercial and residential property owners in their breach of contract and bad faith insurance claim disputes. Carla has helped policyholders recoup millions in monies rightfully due to them from insurance companies. Carla has represented policyholders in obtaining coverage for losses from earthquakes, fires, plumbing losses, hurricanes, wind, hail and floods.
