Biography

Heather Hall Melaas was born and raised in the Houston, Texas area. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, Heather began her legal education at South Texas College of Law. 

In 2015, Heather completed her Juris Doctor, was admitted to the Texas State Bar, and began her career as an attorney in Houston where she represented plaintiffs in a variety in fields including medical negligence and product liability. Since then, she has gained significant expertise in civil litigation and trial practice. She has advocated for plaintiffs in numerous jury trials in Harris, Jefferson, and Montgomery counties as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Heather also has extensive experience in the appellate sector, advocating appeals in the First, Fourteenth, and Ninth Courts of Appeals of Texas. 

She has been representing clients on property damage claims since 2017. In 2019, Heather was admitted to the Florida State Bar and immediately began work continuing to advocate on behalf of policyholders in the State of Florida. In 2021, Heather was licensed in the State of Colorado and has continued her passion working with clients in The Centennial State. 

Because she has demonstrated excellence in the practice of law, Heather has been selected to the Super LawyersÆ Texas Rising Stars list since 2021. She has also been chosen as a Top 40 Under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers Association. Heather is also a member of the National Women in Roofing.

In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband Jared, her son Owen, and their two dogs.
