Biography

Sylvia Craven is an experienced litigation attorney who aggressively and zealously advocates for her clients. Her practice focuses on personal injury, with an emphasis on obtaining maximum compensation for her clients. She is known for her thorough preparation, attention to detail, and strategic approach to achieving client objectives. Sylvia has a proven track record of success representing individuals and companies across numerous industries, and has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, including preparing and arguing motions, discovery and discovery related disputes, taking and defending depositions, trial strategy, and negotiating with adverse parties to secure favorable results.

Sylvia has made significant contributions to various law firms throughout her legal career. Prior to joining Daly & Black, she honed her litigation skills at Dobrowski, Stafford & Pierce, an elite commercial litigation boutique, where she represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of complex business and commercial disputes, including energy and environmental disputes, oil & gas litigation, contract disputes, trust and estate related litigation, partnership breakups, fraud litigation, construction defect cases, and breach of fiduciary duty matters. Sylvia also gained extensive experience guiding clients through arbitration and mediation, and has successfully sought numerous emergency applications for injunctive relief.

Prior to practicing high-stakes commercial litigation, Sylvia gained exposure to a variety of civil litigation matters at Bergquist Law Firm, where she was essential in securing favorable results for clients in cases involving wrongful death, slip and fall injuries, brain injuries, premises liability, and automobile and 18-wheeler accidents.

Sylvia earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center, where she graduated with honors in the top 30% of her class. During law school, Sylvia served as President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, as well as Senior Articles Editor on the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. She also gained valuable experience working as a teaching assistant for both tort law and property law at the University of Houston Law Center. Prior to her law school career, Sylvia graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston.
