Biography
David’s unique background and skillset bring a wealth of life experience and perspective to Daly & Black. He was raised to be a man of his word, care about people, and creatively solve problems by his parents; a teacher and an IT professional. He has lived through tornadoes in east Texas, hailstorms in the DFW area and hurricanes in the Houston area. As a teenager, he held jobs flipping burgers, washing dishes and bussing tables. He later supervised crews at large events and worked his way through college doing construction.
After graduating from Texas A&M University’s Mays School of Business, David worked as an adjuster for a major insurance company for nearly three years. He learned how they operate, how they train and manage adjusters, and how they evaluate claims. He earned awards for customer service because his customers knew he cared. His colleagues couldn’t understand why he would try to help people instead of trying to minimize their claims payouts to make management happy.
Realizing he was on the wrong side, David enrolled at South Texas College of Law, a top-tier trial advocacy school, so he could help people and small businesses stand up to insurance companies. He has since successfully represented hundreds clients with claims large and small.
Over more than a decade of practice David has honed his skills and knowledge to become a formidable advocate. In addition to insurance disputes, he has handled personal injury, product liability, criminal defense, employment, and commercial litigation matters. He has also helped form, advise and defend small businesses in litigation. David has tried multiple jury trials to verdict and has worked on cases in Texas, California, Oklahoma, Michigan, Alabama, Arkansas, Nebraska, Florida, and North Carolina.
David is truly passionate about helping his clients collect what they’re owed so they can rebuild their lives. He spends most of his free time with his cherished wife and kids, and their sweet yellow Labrador. He enjoys watching his sons play baseball, being on the water, listening to vinyl records and learning all kinds of things.
