Charlie Gustin has earned a reputation as a tough, smart litigator who
goes the extra mile to make his clients whole. His practice focuses on
personal injury, first party insurance litigation, and consumer rights
cases. Prior to joining Daly & Black, Charlie operated the Houston
office of a Texas-based personal injury firm – securing over $14
million in verdicts and settlements on behalf of injured clients. In one
case, Charlie helped shut down a dangerous trampoline park while collecting
a multi-million dollar settlement for a brain injured Houston teen.
Charlie received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas and
a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law, where he was
named a Dean’s Scholar and inducted into the Phi Delta Phi Honors
Society. Charlie excelled in the South Texas Advocacy Program –
being named “best oralist” out of 84 peers in the Leroy Jeffers
Memorial Moot Court Tournament and later leading a varsity advocacy team
to a championship at the National Health Law Moot Court Competition sponsored
by the American College of Legal Medicine. Throughout law school, Charlie
worked as head clerk for renowned Houston trial attorney Rusty Hardin.
Charlie is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Association
of Justice, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and serves on the Board
of Directors of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. He was named a
Super Lawyers “Rising Star” by Thomson Reuters in 2016 and 2017, a recognition awarded to less than
2.5% of the attorneys in the state. Charlie’s advocacy on behalf
of his clients has been featured in the
Dallas Morning News, Austin American-Statesman, New Orleans Times-Picayune andTexas Lawyer.
